Who we are
This website is operated by African Heimland Tours, Heritage Park, Somerset West, 7130, South Africa ("we", "us"). We are the responsible party for the personal information collected through this website.
What we collect and why
Enquiry form: the details you enter (name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, the tour you are interested in, group size and your message) are sent to us by email so we can answer your enquiry. They are transmitted through our content system hosted on Amazon Web Services in Cape Town (af-south-1) and delivered with Amazon SES; we do not store them in a database on the website. We keep enquiry emails for as long as needed to handle your request and any booking that follows.
Analytics: if you accept cookies, Google Analytics 4 collects anonymous usage data — pages viewed, approximate location (country or city), device and browser type, how you arrived and how long you stayed. IP addresses are not stored by Google Analytics 4 and we do not use Google Signals.
Advertising measurement: if you accept cookies, the Google Ads tag records when a visit that started from one of our Google ads leads to an enquiry, so we know which ads work. We do not sell your data and do not combine it with other sources.
Until you make a choice, Google Consent Mode keeps all analytics and advertising storage switched off. Declining sets nothing and sends nothing to Google; you can still browse the site and send an enquiry.
Who processes the data
Google LLC (Google Analytics, Google Ads) under Google's data processing terms, which may involve transfers outside South Africa and the EU under standard contractual clauses; Vercel Inc. (website hosting; server logs including IP addresses are kept briefly to serve and protect the site); Amazon Web Services (content system and email delivery, Cape Town region).
